What is Philosophical Counseling?
Philosophical counseling uses the oldest method known to us for solving human problems.
That is right! It uses thinking! We have come to associate thinking with doing homework, or math problems, or with our tasks at our jobs. What about thinking about our lives, values, and goals?
In our everyday lives, these questions are relegated to the background. It is assumed that they cannot be answered! That they are a waste of time...Maybe it is because we used to look at religion, tradition, culture, or another grand narrative to give us answers, and we got disappointed...Or maybe it is because if we talk and think about these questions, we won't have the time or the desire to buy as many things!
Whether you want to gain clarity about a particular problem in your life, or want to find your purpose, or give your worldview a tune-up, I am excited to be your companion on this journey.

Do you want to go on a philosophical journey which lasts a few months with a group of like-minded companions ? This is what we do in our online philosophy retreats! Or maybe you prefer to go to a philosophical party where you get to have fun and have good food, as you think philosophically about your life. Just like they do in Plato's dialogues! This is what happens in our in-person weekend retreats. In either case, you get to think deeply about your life, your values, and worldview while creating meaningful bonds with fellow philosophical adventurers!

More about me:
Like you, I am attracted to the big questions in life. That got me into academic philosophy. After having done two masters, I joined the PhD program at the university of Minnesota, and I am defending my PhD thesis very soon (or so I hope!).
I love research, but I think it is a shame if philosophy remains confined in academic settings. It is a part of the nature of research to focus on small, detailed questions, but, like I said, I want to think about the big questions!
I want to think about how to live our lives, about our place in the larger tapestry of life, about our responsibility to one another, to the other living creatures, and to our planet. That is why I became a philosophical counselor. So I can reflect on these questions with people from all walks of life. Do you want to join me in reflection?
